When we report an individual's
pure tone threshold and prepare to interpret the results of the pure
tone audiometric test, one of our goals is to compare the individual's
hearing to normal values. This comparison allows us to determine if
the individual's hearing is poorer than normal. (As we discussed already
this term, describing an individual's pure tone thresholds relative
to normal values is the most basic means of defining the presence
of a hearing loss.) |
